Burnley manager Vincent Kompany is paying no attention to rumors of a crisis at Manchester United as he prepares to face Erik ten Hag’s side on Saturday.
United lost 4-3 to Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Wednesday night, continuing an early-season slump that has seen them lose three of their opening five Premier League games.
With off-field problems also increasing for Ten Hag, the pressure will be on United to produce a result at Turf Moor, but Kompany are only interested in their own players.

“I just try to judge (United) the way I have to judge my team, its strengths and weaknesses,” he said. “I have already been at a big club and I know what it means to lose a few games. The pressure may increase, but it’s not my place to talk about it. I concentrate on the field…
“We don’t care what happens with the other team, it’s none of our business. I must manage the results and performance of our team alone.
“I think we’re a quiet side, we’re at a point where we feel like there’s something really exciting coming up and we want to build on that moment. “Whatever happens elsewhere is none of our business.
Kompany wants to build on the positive signs shown in Monday’s 1-1 draw at Nottingham Forest, Burnley’s first point of the season and one that could have been all three but for a controversial VAR decision that Lyle took Foster’s late goal. goes for a handball from Sander Berge. The draw was a welcome step forward after three consecutive home defeats against Manchester City, Aston Villa and Tottenham.
“We played three games against three of the top eight teams in the league and the gap was still there,” Kompany said. “Against Forest we felt like we were level. It is now up to us to reduce the gap with the teams in the lead.
“I’m really looking forward to this game to see if we’ve taken those steps. I really believe in our team’s offensive threat and that we can do something and I hope that shows on Saturday.
Although Burnley’s first season back in the top flight began with three consecutive home games – a situation brought on by the postponement of their trip to Luton in August – they were thrown into the deep end as the reigning champions finished first ahead of Villa and Spurs. was a guest.
Even given United’s struggles, Saturday’s 8pm kick-off doesn’t look any easier and Kompany knows his side will need to show more consistency throughout the match.
“I really want (Turf Moor) to be a tough place for any team,” he said. “At this stage, having played against teams of United’s caliber, it’s fair to say we couldn’t put in a 100-minute performance.
“We were always dangerous and had good periods, but we were punished in the periods when we were not at our best. “For us it’s about looking at this game and asking ourselves: ‘Can we improve and get a result against one of the best teams in the league?’
Burnley will have to do it without Foster, who has scored two of his four Premier League goals so far this season. The South African received a late red card at the City Ground on Monday and faces a three-match ban.
“We have put together a good team and there are a few players I would like to see anyway,” Kompany said. “Now it’s up to someone else to follow in those footsteps, put their own flavor into it and hopefully it pays off that day.”
