Bernardo Silva says Man City have another ‘fantastic’ match-winner like Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne
Bernardo Silva believes a third Manchester City player has reached the level of Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland.
Manchester City are blessed with an incredible squad that has already achieved remarkable things and could do so again this year.
Though it’s very difficult, City could feasibly win back-to-back trebles this season after last year’s historic triumph.
Pep Guardiola’s side are going strong in the Champions League and FA Cup and are just one point behind top spot in the Premier League.
City defeated Manchester United 3-1 on Sunday to maintain pressure on leaders Liverpool ahead of their massive match at the weekend.
The Blues had to fight back from behind though and Phil Foden inspired the turnaround with a stunning brace.
MORE MAN CITY STORIES
Erling Haaland added a third but all the plaudits were for Foden afterwards.
Bernardo Silva is the latest to praise the 23-year-old and believes he has become a match-winner just like Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne.

Bernardo puts Foden on the level of Haaland and De Bruyne
Speaking to City’s in-house media, Bernardo said: “Fantastic player.
“Special for him to score in the derby because he’s from the academy and a Man City fan from the beginning.
“Phil is a bit like – in terms of deciding games – Kevin [De Bruyne] and Erling [Haaland].
“In the final third, he’s the guy to give us that extra bit to score and take on one v ones with the defenders and create chances.
“In the last three or four months especially, he’s been fantastic for us. He’s been winning games by himself – in some of them.
“I’m so happy for him because he deserves it.”
Special praise
To be put on the same level as Haaland and De Bruyne is very special praise and it’s completely deserved.
Foden has gotten even better this year and stepped up his game further still when City were lacking their world-class pair due to injury.
His goals picked up a vital three points in the title race on Sunday and it’s not the first time he has been decisive when City have needed a game-changer.
It almost certainly won’t be the last, either. Foden may have been around for years but he is still just 23 and it’s scary to think at how much better he could still get.
