Former Newcastle, Wimbledon, Nottingham Forest and Luton manager Joe Kinnear has died aged 77.
His death followed a battle with dementia.
A statement from his family confirming the sad news read: “We are sad to announce that Joe passed away peacefully this afternoon surrounded by his family.”
Kinnear won the FA Cup, two League Cups and the UEFA Cup during his time with Tottenham as a player between 1966 and 1975. He quit playing at 30.
He also managed Newcastle, Nottingham Forest and Luton and had a prolonged battle with dementia having been diagnosed in 2015.

He recently made his debut for England, topping off an incredible rise, which had seen him score two goals for Manchester United before today, one in the FA Cup and one in the Premier League.
Both had come away from home, and against Liverpool he scored his first ever first team goal for Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Kobbie Mainoo sets records
Kobbie Mainoo’s rise has been one of football’s top talking points and his goal against Liverpool today was special.
Receiving the ball from Aaron Wan-Bissaka, he took a touch, saw the opportunity to shoot open up, and curled an effort into the top corner.
Manchester United could not hold onto the 2-1 lead Mainoo provided, with the visitors equalising via a controversial late penalty.

In doing so, Mainoo became the first teenager to score in the Premier League against Liverpool in 19 years.
The last time this happened was back in 2005, per Opta, with Cesc Fabregas doing so for Arsenal.
Mainoo is also the youngest Manchester United player in the Premier League era to net against Liverpool.

Since returning from a pre-season injury, Kobbie Mainoo has locked himself in as a regular starter in Manchester United’s midfield.
A starting spot awaits at Wembley when Manchester United face Coventry City in the FA Cup semi-final.
Mainoo is part of a core of young players who are offering Manchester United the most hope right now, with centre-back Willy Kambwala also performing strongly in defence against Liverpool.
Midfield is a position where United have been trying to find a long-term solution for a very long time. To have one come through the academy is perfect. He is a player the club can build around, with lots more goals against Liverpool to come, we hope.
