Report: Man Utd ‘Paying Close Attention’ to Conor Gallagher Ahead of Move.
The report by TBR Football states that a number of Premier League clubs have indicated to Atletico that they want to be kept informed about Gallagher’s situation ahead of the January transfer window – with United being one of those interested in the ‘frustrated’ star.
The £200,000-a-week midfielder was thought to be a target for United towards the end of the summer transfer window, but the situation was too complex to get any sort of deal over the line. Gallagher, according to Fabrizio Romano, was the subject of a loan proposal by United which was rejected by Atletico, who had no plans to let him leave on loan.
However, a January move has not been ruled out. The summer addition of Johnny Cardoso from Real Betis has pushed Gallagher further down the pecking order, seeing him drop behind the likes of Koke and Pablo Barrios in their central midfield ranks.
With Gallagher keen on a World Cup place, that could see him move to United, who retain an interest in him and are paying ‘close attention’ to his playing situation.
