Recent reports indicate that former Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger has suggested that the club should consider signing Karim Benzema to bolster their attacking options. Benzema, who transferred to Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad last summer, has been linked with a return to Europe following reports of dissatisfaction with his current situation. Wenger has previously praised Benzema’s ability to enhance team dynamics, stating that he is a striker who “makes people around him better” and would be an ideal addition to Arsenal’s squad.
Meanwhile, Arsenal has been exploring various striker options to strengthen their squad. The club has shown interest in Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak; however, reports suggest that Isak favors a move to Liverpool. As an alternative, Arsenal is considering Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt, who has impressed with 19 goals and eight assists this season.
Additionally, former Arsenal winger Jermaine Pennant has advocated for the signing of Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyokeres over Isak, citing Gyokeres’ established prowess and suitability for Arsenal’s attacking needs.
While Wenger’s endorsement of Benzema highlights the French striker’s qualities, it remains uncertain whether Arsenal will pursue this option or focus on younger talents like Ekitike or Gyokeres to enhance their title aspirations.
