Arsenal are intensifying their pursuit of Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak, identifying the Swedish striker as their primary target for the upcoming transfer window.

Despite Newcastle’s firm stance, placing a £150 million valuation on Isak to deter suitors, Arsenal are reportedly preparing a formal offer that could surpass their previous transfer record .

Isak, who has netted 48 goals in 75 Premier League appearances, is seen by Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta as the ideal addition to bolster the team’s attacking options. However, Newcastle are determined to retain their star forward, emphasizing his importance to the club’s future plans. The Magpies are even considering offering Isak an improved contract to secure his long-term commitment .

While Arsenal are keen on Isak, they are also exploring alternative options. Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyökeres has emerged as a viable candidate, with reports suggesting that Arsenal have received the green light to negotiate a £60 million deal for the Swedish striker . Gyökeres has been prolific in front of goal, scoring 52 goals and providing 15 assists this season, making him an attractive prospect for the Gunners .

In addition to strengthening their attack, Arsenal are also looking to reinforce their midfield. The club has reportedly agreed personal terms with Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi, who is set to join upon the activation of his £50 million release clause .

As Arsenal aim to build a squad capable of challenging for major honours, the club’s transfer strategy reflects a commitment to acquiring top talent. Whether they can secure Isak’s signature remains uncertain, but their proactive approach in the transfer market underscores their ambition for the upcoming season.
