The Lubbock, Texas native, known for her exceptional scoring ability and versatility on the court, has been a standout at Monterey High School, amassing over 4,200 career points and setting multiple school records.

 

In July 2024, Chavez narrowed her list of potential colleges to six: South Carolina, LSU, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, UCLA, and Texas. Each of these programs has been actively recruiting her, highlighting their strengths and the opportunities they offer.

 

South Carolina, under head coach Dawn Staley, has consistently been a top contender, impressing Chavez with their winning tradition and dynamic coaching staff.
