Ohio State continues its dominance on the recruiting trail, securing a commitment from elite five-star running back Deshonne Redeaux. The nation’s No. 2-ranked RB in the 2025 class (per 247Sports Composite) announced his pledge to the Buckeyes, choosing them over Penn State and Tennessee.
Redeaux, a 6-foot-1, 210-pound powerhouse from IMG Academy (Bradenton, FL), is regarded as one of the most explosive and versatile backs in the country. His combination of speed, vision, and power made him a top target for multiple powerhouse programs, but in the end, Ohio State won out.
“I felt like Ohio State was the best fit for me,” Redeaux said in his announcement. “The way they develop running backs and the culture there—everything felt right. Coach [Tony] Alford and Coach [Ryan] Day made me feel like family.”
Ohio State’s ability to produce elite backs, including Ezekiel Elliott, J.K. Dobbins, and TreVeyon Henderson, played a crucial role in Redeaux’s decision. The Buckeyes’ high-powered offense gives running backs plenty of opportunities to shine, and Redeaux is expected to make an impact early.
This commitment is a massive win for Ohio State, giving them their third five-star recruit in the 2025 class. With Redeaux in the fold, the Buckeyes’ offense looks even more dangerous for the future as they continue their push for national championship contention.
