
Breaking: Chandler Rivers, a standout cornerback from Duke University, has announced his commitment to transfer to the Texas Longhorns football program.
Rivers, a Beaumont, Texas native and Beaumont United High School alumnus, brings a wealth of talent and experience to the Longhorns’ defense.
During his junior season at Duke, Rivers recorded impressive statistics, including 54 total tackles (30 solo), 1 sack, 2 forced fumbles, 3 interceptions, and 8 pass deflections. Notably, he returned an interception for a touchdown against Florida State on October 18, 2024, showcasing his playmaking abilities.
Rivers’ journey began at Beaumont United High School, where he excelled as a three-star recruit. He chose Duke over numerous scholarship offers from schools nationwide. In addition to his football prowess, Rivers was a member of the Timberwolves’ state championship basketball team and earned a silver medal in the state long jump event.
At Duke, Rivers made an immediate impact, appearing in all 12 games as a freshman and earning honorable mention on the College Football News Freshman All-America team. His consistent performance continued throughout his tenure with the Blue Devils, culminating in his decision to transfer to Texas.
