BREAKING NEWS: Former East Carolina forward Amiya Joyner has officially committed to LSU, providing a major boost to the Tigers’ frontcourt heading into the upcoming season.

The 6-foot-3 standout averaged 15.0 points and 9.2 rebounds per game last season for the Pirates, establishing herself as one of the most dominant post players in the American Athletic Conference. Now, she brings that size, skill, and physicality to Baton Rouge as LSU continues to reload for another championship run.

Joyner’s decision comes at a pivotal time for LSU, as the Tigers look to fill key roles vacated by outgoing players. Her ability to crash the boards, protect the rim, and score efficiently around the basket makes her an immediate impact player for Coach Kim Mulkey’s squad. Known for her toughness and motor, Joyner will complement LSU’s high-octane style and bolster their presence in the paint on both ends of the floor.

A native of North Carolina, Joyner was a former four-star recruit who made an immediate splash at ECU. Over her two seasons with the Pirates, she developed into a double-double machine and one of the most consistent interior threats in the conference. Her transition to LSU marks a significant step up in competition, but her production and work ethic suggest she’s ready for the spotlight.

With Joyner joining a roster that already boasts elite talent, LSU is positioning itself as a force to be reckoned with in the SEC and on the national stage. Her addition further solidifies the Tigers as a Final Four contender in the 2025 NCAA Women’s Basketball season.
