The Ohio State Buckeyes secured a thrilling 28-14 win over the Texas Longhorns in the Cotton Bowl on Friday night, advancing to the national championship game and a chance to claim their sixth title.

Quinshon Judkins spearheaded the Buckeyes’ offense, scoring two touchdowns, including a crucial 1-yard score with 7:02 remaining to put Ohio State up 21-14. This touchdown was set up by quarterback Will Howard’s impressive 18-yard run on fourth-and-2 from the Texas 34.

However, the game’s most decisive moment came courtesy of Jack Sawyer, who forced a fumble by his former roommate, Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers, on fourth-and-goal from the 8. Sawyer then returned the fumble 83 yards for a touchdown, sealing the victory for Ohio State. This remarkable play marked the longest fumble return in College Football Playoff (CFP) history.

Ohio State’s win sets up a championship showdown with Orange Bowl champion Notre Dame in Atlanta on January 20. The Buckeyes will be seeking their first national title since 2014.

Texas, meanwhile, saw their season come to a close with a 13-3 record. Despite a strong performance from Ewers, who threw for 283 yards and two touchdowns, the Longhorns were ultimately unable to overcome the Buckeyes’ stifling defense.

The Cotton Bowl victory marked a triumphant return to the same stadium where Ohio State won the inaugural CFP championship game 10 years ago. With their sights now set on a sixth national title, the Buckeyes are poised to make history once again.

As the stage is set for the championship game, Ohio State fans are eagerly anticipating the opportunity to see their team claim another national title. With momentum on their side, the Buckeyes are ready to face Notre Dame and bring home their sixth championship.
