Breaking news: Ohio State quarterback Will Howard has reportedly declined a substantial $4.5 million Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) offer from the University of Georgia to remain with the Buckeyes.

Howard, who transferred from Kansas State to Ohio State prior to the 2024 season, has been instrumental in the Buckeyes’ success, leading them to a national championship victory over Notre Dame.

Howard’s journey to Ohio State began after a conversation with Kansas State’s coaching staff, where it became clear that the program was moving forward with a younger quarterback. Seeking a new challenge and an opportunity to elevate his game, Howard entered the transfer portal. He considered several programs, including Miami and USC, but ultimately chose Ohio State, drawn by Coach Ryan Day’s vision and the chance to compete for a national title. Reflecting on his decision, Howard stated, “Coach Day said, ‘We believe you’re the guy who can come in here and lead us to a National Championship,’ and that was all I needed.”

Since joining the Buckeyes, Howard has not only excelled on the field but also secured notable NIL deals. He partnered with Ricart Automotive Group, receiving a scarlet-colored Ford Bronco, and collaborated with Raising Cane’s following the national championship win.

Despite the lucrative offer from Georgia, Howard’s commitment to Ohio State remains unwavering. His decision underscores a profound dedication to his team and a desire to continue building on the Buckeyes’ recent successes. Howard’s focus is clear: “I have no plans beyond being a Buckeye.”

As the Buckeyes prepare for the upcoming season, Howard’s leadership and steadfastness serve as an inspiration to his teammates and fans alike, exemplifying the values of loyalty and commitment in collegiate athletics.
