BREAKING NEWS: Ohio State’s Jack Sawyer Expresses Desire to Play for Browns or Bengals in 2025 NFL Draft.

Ohio State Buckeyes defensive standout Jack Sawyer has made his NFL aspirations clear—he wants to stay in Ohio. With the 2025 NFL Draft approaching, the talented edge rusher has expressed a strong preference for being selected by either the Cleveland Browns or the Cincinnati Bengals.

In a recent interview, Sawyer acknowledged his deep-rooted connection to the state and his admiration for both franchises. “Growing up in Ohio, you can’t help but love football here,” he said. “I’ve always respected what the Browns and Bengals have built, and if I get the opportunity to play for either team, it would be a dream come true.”

Sawyer, a former five-star recruit, has been a force for the Buckeyes since arriving in Columbus. Known for his explosiveness off the edge, high football IQ, and relentless motor, he has developed into one of the top defensive prospects in the upcoming draft. During his final season at Ohio State, he recorded double-digit sacks and played a crucial role in the team’s success, further solidifying his status as a first-round talent.

Both the Browns and Bengals could benefit from an elite pass rusher like Sawyer. The Browns, led by star defensive end Myles Garrett, have one of the NFL’s best defensive fronts but could use additional depth and a long-term complement on the edge. The Bengals, on the other hand, have been looking to bolster their pass rush as they aim to remain contenders in the AFC. Adding a young, dynamic talent like Sawyer could provide a significant boost to their defensive unit.

However, the NFL Draft process is unpredictable, and there’s no guarantee Sawyer will land in Ohio. Several other teams in need of an elite edge rusher may target him, potentially disrupting his home-state aspirations. Still, his skill set and production make him one of the most coveted defensive prospects in the 2025 draft class.

As the draft approaches, all eyes will be on Sawyer and whether his Ohio roots will keep him in familiar territory. One thing is certain—wherever he lands, he’s expected to make an immediate impact at the

next level.
