
BREAKING NEWS: Reese Atwood has etched her name into Texas softball history with a season that redefines excellence.
The junior catcher shattered the Longhorns’ single-season home run record, launching her 19th homer—a three-run blast to centerfield—during a dominant 23-0 victory over Texas Tech on May 4, 2024. This feat surpassed the previous mark set by Taylor Hoagland in 2012 .
Atwood’s offensive prowess didn’t stop there. She amassed a staggering 13 RBIs over the weekend series, including a career-high nine in a single game, propelling Texas to its first regular-season conference championship since 2010 .
