BREAKING NEWS: Texas Longhorns’ standout point guard, Rori Harmon, has officially announced her decision to return to the University of Texas for the 2025-26 women’s basketball season.
Harmon shared the news on social media, stating, “Yes, I’m coming back #HookEm.”
Harmon’s return is a significant boost for the Longhorns, who reached their first Final Four since 2003 this past season. Her leadership and skill were instrumental in the team’s success, especially following her recovery from an ACL injury sustained in December 2023. After an extensive rehabilitation process, Harmon made a triumphant return to the court, leading Texas to a commanding 119-47 victory over Southeast Missouri State in November 2024.
Throughout her career at Texas, Harmon has been recognized for her tenacity and defensive prowess. She earned a spot on the SEC’s All-Defensive team and received All-American honorable mentions from both the Associated Press and the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association.
Head coach Vic Schaefer expressed enthusiasm about Harmon’s decision, highlighting her as a pivotal player for the team’s aspirations in the upcoming season. With Harmon’s commitment, the Longhorns aim to build upon their recent achievements and pursue a national championship in the 2025-26 season.
