BREAKING: Ohio State’s Jack Sawyer Hopes to Land with Browns or Bengals in 2025 NFL Draft..
Ohio State defensive end Jack Sawyer has made his NFL aspirations clear: He wants to stay in Ohio. In a recent interview, the Buckeyes star expressed his desire to be selected by either the Cleveland Browns or Cincinnati Bengals in the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft.
“I grew up in Ohio, played high school ball here, and obviously spent my college years with the Buckeyes,” Sawyer said. “It would mean a lot to stay home and play for one of the teams I grew up watching.”
Sawyer, a former five-star recruit out of Pickerington, Ohio, has been a dominant force on Ohio State’s defensive line. Standing at 6-foot-4 and weighing 265 pounds, he has developed into one of the most disruptive edge rushers in college football. His combination of power, speed, and technique has made him a projected first-round pick in the 2025 draft.
Both the Browns and Bengals could be potential landing spots for Sawyer. Cleveland already boasts one of the league’s top defensive fronts, led by Myles Garrett, but adding a young, high-upside pass rusher could bolster their long-term plans. Meanwhile, Cincinnati has been looking to strengthen its defensive line, and Sawyer’s talent could make him an ideal fit in Lou Anarumo’s defensive scheme.
While NFL draft positioning is far from certain, Sawyer’s preference for staying in Ohio could be a factor for both teams when April 2025 arrives. Whether the Browns or Bengals will have the opportunity to select him remains to be seen, but one thing is clear—Sawyer is ready to make an impact at the next level, and he’d love to do it in his ho
me state.
