BREAKING: Texas Receives Massive Injury News Before College Football Playoff Semifinals.

Steve Sarkisian and the Texas Longhorns are looking to secure a trip to the national championship, with a matchup against the Ohio State Buckeyes standing in their way.

Texas and Ohio State will face off in the Cotton Bowl on Jan. 10 at 7:30 p.m. ET.

Ahead of the matchup between two of the most historic college football programs in the country, ESPN’s Pete Thamel revealed significant injury news.

Thamel reported that Texas starting right tackle Cameron Williams is expected to return and start in the team’s semifinal matchup against the Buckeyes.

Williams missed the Longhorns’ previous 39-31 victory over the Arizona State Sun Devils in the quarterfinals, due to a right knee sprain.

Thamel further explained the importance of having Williams back in the lineup and provided background on the Texas star’s injury.

“He was deemed a game-time decision for ASU but ultimately wasn’t healthy enough to go,” Thamel said. “Williams, who is 6-5 and 335 pounds, is a projected first-round pick and No. 28 overall prospect in ESPN’s 2025 NFL Draft rankings.”

Texas enters the College Football Playoff semifinals with a 13-2 record. Ahead of their matchup against the Buckeyes, the Longhorns defeated Clemson and Arizona State en route to the semifinal round.

Nevertheless, Ohio State heads into the game as a 6-point favorite over Sarkisian and the Longhorns, per ESPN BET.
