Four-star wide receiver Donovan Murph has committed to the Gamecocks, choosing them over offers from Tennessee, Michigan, Colorado, and Ole Miss.

Murph, a standout from Irmo High School in Columbia, South Carolina, announced his decision during the Under Armour All-America Game in DeLand, Florida.

Standing at 6-foot-2, Murph is ranked as the No. 182 prospect in the 2025 ESPN 300 and was the top uncommitted skill position player in his class at the time of his announcement. His senior season statistics are impressive, with 96 receptions for 1,328 yards and 12 touchdowns. Murph cited South Carolina’s consistent recruitment efforts and belief in his talent as key factors in his decision.

Murph’s commitment adds to a strong 2025 recruiting class for South Carolina, which includes other top-300 wide receivers such as Jordon Gidron (No. 129), Malik Clark (No. 178), and Lex Cyrus (No. 292). This influx of talent is expected to enhance the Gamecocks’ offensive capabilities in the coming seasons.

Head coach Shane Beamer’s successful recruitment of Murph over other prominent programs underscores South Carolina’s growing appeal to top-tier recruits. As the Gamecocks continue to build a competitive roster, Murph’s addition is anticipated to play a significant role in the team’s future successes.
