South Carolina alum Allisha Gray is thrilled to be joined by Te-Hina PaoPao ❤️.

The Atlanta Dream just got a little more garnet and black.

After the Dream selected Te-Hina PaoPao with the No. 7 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, Gamecock Nation erupted with pride—and so did one of South Carolina’s most beloved pros, Allisha Gray. The 2017 NCAA Champion and Olympic gold medalist took to social media to celebrate the arrival of her fellow Gamecock in Atlanta, posting her excitement about the new backcourt duo in the making.

“Let’s gooooooo!” Gray wrote. “Welcome to the A, sis!”

PaoPao, known for her court vision, three-point shooting, and poise under pressure, brings a high-IQ game that fits perfectly into the Dream’s young, dynamic core. Her leadership at South Carolina during the 2023–24 season was instrumental in helping Dawn Staley’s squad go undefeated and capture another national title.

The chemistry between Gray and PaoPao might already be brewing. While they didn’t overlap in college, the shared culture and championship mentality built at South Carolina could lay the foundation for a smooth transition and a strong bond on and off the court.

For Gray, having another Gamecock alongside her is more than just a roster move—it’s a reunion of a winning tradition. As the Dream continue to build a contender in the W, fans can expect the Carolina connection to shine bright under the Atlanta lights.

From Columbia to Atlanta, the journey continues. And now, it’s powered by two Gamecocks with one goal: winning.

Watch out, WNBA—the Dream just got a little more real.
