Jubilation: As of now, there is no confirmed information regarding Jeremiah Smith agreeing to a $6.2 million contract to leave Ohio State University (OSU) and continue his college football career elsewhere.
Recent reports indicate that Smith, a standout wide receiver for the Buckeyes, has received substantial offers from other programs but has chosen to remain at OSU.
In January 2025, reports surfaced that Smith had received an offer exceeding $4.5 million to enter the transfer portal. Despite this lucrative proposition, Smith reaffirmed his commitment to Ohio State. He responded to a tweet suggesting he might transfer with a “100” emoji, indicating his steadfast loyalty to the Buckeyes.
Further solidifying his dedication, in February 2025, Smith reportedly declined a $5 million Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) deal from another university. This decision underscores his commitment to Ohio State and his belief in the program’s direction.
Smith’s freshman year at Ohio State was nothing short of remarkable. He led the team with 76 receptions for 1,315 yards and 15 touchdowns, playing a pivotal role in OSU’s national championship victory over Notre Dame. His performance has not only elevated his status nationally but also increased his NIL valuation, which stood at $4 million as of January 2025.
Given these developments, it appears that Jeremiah Smith remains committed to continuing his college football career at Ohio State University. There is no credible information to suggest he has agreed to a $6.2 million contract to transfer to another program.
