In their previous encounter on February 13, 2025, the Lady Vols dominated Auburn with a 99-61 victory, showcasing a season-high 55.7% shooting accuracy. Fifth-year guard Jewel Spear led the team with 17 points, while junior guard Ruby Whitehorn added 15 points.

 

The Lady Vols, currently holding a 21-7 overall record and 8-7 in the SEC, are under the leadership of first-year head coach Kim Caldwell. Notably, on December 14, 2024, the team set an NCAA record by making 30 three-point field goals in a single game against North Carolina Central University, resulting in a 139-59 victory.
