The trade, finalized on February 2, 2025, saw the Lakers send Anthony Davis, Max Christie, and a 2029 first-round draft pick to Dallas in exchange for Dončić, Maxi Kleber, and Markieff Morris .

 

This unprecedented midseason exchange marked the first time in NBA history that two reigning All-NBA Team players were traded for each other. The deal also involved the Utah Jazz, who received Jalen Hood-Schifino and two second-round picks .

 

Dončić, a five-time All-NBA First Team selection, has been a cornerstone for the Mavericks, leading them to the 2024 NBA Finals.
