Breaking: 4-Star Safety Blaine Bradford Commits to Ohio State

Ohio State has landed a massive commitment in the 2026 recruiting class, securing a pledge from elite safety Blaine Bradford. The four-star prospect is ranked No. 25 overall in the nation and the No. 2 safety in the country, according to On3.

Hailing from Texas, Bradford had been a priority target for multiple powerhouse programs, including Alabama, Georgia, and in-state schools like Texas and Texas A&M. However, after multiple visits to Columbus, he decided Ohio State was the best fit for his future.

“The tradition, the coaching staff, and the player development at Ohio State really stood out to me,” Bradford said. “I know I can reach my full potential here, and I’m excited to be a Buckeye.”

Bradford is known for his elite instincts, ball-hawking ability, and physicality in the secondary. At 6-foot-2 and 195 pounds, he has the size and speed to make an immediate impact at the next level. His versatility allows him to play deep safety, come down into the box, or cover slot receivers in man-to-man situations.

For Ohio State, landing Bradford is another statement in their dominance on the recruiting trail. Under head coach Ryan Day, the Buckeyes continue to pull in elite defensive talent to bolster their secondary. Bradford joins an already stacked 2026 class and will be a key piece in the Buckeyes’ defensive plans for the future.

With Bradford’s commitment, Ohio State strengthens its grip as one of the premier destinations for top-tier defensive backs. Expect the Buckeyes to remain active in the recruiting scene as they look to build a national championship-caliber roster.
