Ohio State linebacker Payton Pierce is wrapping up his first year with the Buckeyes on a high note, expressing gratitude for his growth and experience.
The former four-star recruit from Texas saw limited action in his freshman season but remained focused on improving his game and adapting to the college level.
“It’s been a great learning experience,” Pierce said. “I’m grateful for my coaches, teammates, and the opportunities I’ve had so far. This first year has been about getting comfortable with the speed of the game and learning from the guys ahead of me.”
As he heads into his second season, Pierce is determined to carve out a bigger role on Ohio State’s defense. He emphasized the importance of immersing himself in the playbook and refining his skills to make a more significant impact.
“My goal is to really lock in on the scheme, understand my responsibilities at a higher level, and be ready to contribute in any way I can,” he added.
With a full offseason to prepare, Pierce is expected to compete for more playing time in 2025, strengthening an already talented Ohio State linebacker corps. Fans will be eager to see how his development translates to the field next
