Ohio State University has secured a major victory in the 2025 college football recruiting cycle with the commitment of five-star cornerback Na’eem Offord.
Ranked as the No. 6 overall prospect and the top cornerback in the class, Offord chose the Buckeyes over powerhouse programs including Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida State, and Tennessee .
Standing at 6-foot-2 and weighing 185 pounds, Offord hails from Birmingham, Alabama. His commitment came during a family visit to Ohio State, where he was impressed by the program’s culture and development opportunities. This addition brings Ohio State’s total to seven ESPN Junior 300 commitments for the 2025 cycle, with Offord being the highest-ranked among them. He joins fellow elite cornerbacks Devin Sanchez (No. 11 overall) and Blake Woodby (No. 28 overall), further solidifying Ohio State’s defensive backfield .
Head coach Ryan Day and his staff have been on a recruiting hot streak, also landing commitments from five-star quarterback Tavien St. Clair and wide receiver Jaden Mitchell, who decommitted from Auburn to join the Buckeyes . These additions have propelled Ohio State’s 2025 recruiting class to one of the top spots nationally, reflecting the program’s continued emphasis on attracting top-tier talent across multiple positions.
Offord’s decision underscores Ohio State’s growing influence in the Southeastern recruiting landscape, traditionally dominated by SEC programs. With a blend of elite coaching, a strong developmental track record, and a clear path to the NFL, Ohio State continues to be an attractive destination for the nation’s top high school football talent.
