REPORT: Jackson Cantwell, the nation’s No. 1 prospect in the 2025 class, recently visited Ohio State, and the experience left a strong impression on him. As the highly sought-after offensive tackle nears his commitment decision, he spoke highly of the Buckeyes’ winning culture and dominant offensive line tradition.
“A winning culture and a fantastic offensive line group is appealing,” Cantwell said, emphasizing the aspects that stood out to him the most. Ohio State has consistently produced top-tier linemen for the NFL, and under head coach Ryan Day, the program continues to compete at the highest level.
During his visit, Cantwell had the opportunity to connect with offensive line coach Justin Frye and current Buckeye players. He was particularly impressed by the attention to detail in player development and the camaraderie within the team.
“The way they prepare their offensive linemen is next level. The coaching staff knows how to develop guys, and the players genuinely push each other to be better,” he added.
Cantwell, who has a towering frame and elite athleticism, has drawn interest from nearly every top program in the country. However, Ohio State’s ability to compete for national championships and produce NFL talent has put them in serious contention for his commitment.
With his decision expected in the coming months, the Buckeyes appear to have made a strong case. Other powerhouse programs remain in the mix, but Ohio State’s combination of winning pedigree, player development, and elite competition makes them a compelling option for Cantwell as he nears the next step in his football
journey.
