South Carolina head coach Dawn Staley had nothing but admiration and love for Bree Hall as the junior guard announced she’s declaring for the WNBA Draft.

Hall, a steady presence on both ends of the floor during her time with the Gamecocks, was a key contributor to their 2024 national championship run. Staley, known for building deep connections with her players, was emotional but proud as she spoke about Hall’s decision to take the next step in her basketball journey.

“Bree has grown so much, not just as a player, but as a person,” Staley said. “She came here quiet and determined, and she’s leaving as a confident, seasoned leader who’s ready for the next level. We’re going to miss her presence, her defense, her clutch shooting—but most of all, her spirit.”

Hall played a pivotal role off the bench throughout her career, embracing every role asked of her. Her unselfishness and work ethic never went unnoticed. In her final season, she stepped up in major moments, earning a reputation as a reliable two-way guard with a calm demeanor under pressure.

“She’s one of those players who doesn’t need the spotlight to shine,” Staley added. “But when it’s her moment, she always delivers. Any WNBA team that gets Bree is getting a player with heart, humility, and a team-first mindset.”

While Gamecock Nation will miss Hall in garnet and black, they’ll be cheering her on at the next level. Her journey is far from over—and Staley made it clear that her support doesn’t end with graduation.

“She’ll always have a home here,” Staley said. “And I’ll always be one of her biggest fans.”

With her coach’s blessing and a championship legacy behind her, Bree Hall steps into the WNBA ready to make her mark.
