The best Top 5-star RB Trey Cooley vows to stick with the Tennessee Vols over Alabama, Auburn, and the Florida Gators after decommitting from Purdue.
In a notable shift within college football recruiting, five-star running back Trey Cooley has decommitted from Purdue University and committed to the University of Tennessee Volunteers, choosing them over prominent programs such as Alabama, Auburn, and Florida.
Cooley, a 6-foot, 205-pound athlete renowned for his speed, agility, and vision on the field, had initially committed to Purdue in early June. However, after subsequent visits and discussions, he opted to join Tennessee. He expressed his enthusiasm on social media, stating, “After a lot of thought and discussions with my family, I’ve decided to commit to the Tennessee Vols. I’m ready to help bring championships to Knoxville!”
Tennessee’s head coach, Josh Heupel, welcomed Cooley, remarking, “We are thrilled to welcome Trey to our program. He embodies the competitive spirit we look for in our players, and we believe he will thrive here at Tennessee.”
Cooley’s decision is a significant boost for the Volunteers as they continue to strengthen their roster under Heupel’s leadership. His commitment underscores Tennessee’s growing appeal to top-tier talent and their aspirations for success in the competitive Southeastern Conference.
