The No. 1 Texas Longhorns softball team showcased resilience at the Hillenbrand Invitational in Tucson, Arizona,

following an unexpected 9-5 defeat to No. 20 Stanford on February 21, 2025. The Longhorns rebounded with a series of commanding victories, beginning with an 18-2 win over Colorado State later that day.

 

Continuing their momentum, Texas secured a 12-0 shutout against UC Davis on February 22. Later that evening, they faced No. 11 Arizona in a thrilling extra-innings matchup, emerging victorious with an 8-4 scoreline. The Longhorns concluded the tournament on February 23 with a decisive 10-2 win over Colorado State, improving their overall record to 15-1.

 

Looking ahead, Texas returns to Austin to host the Longhorn Invitational from February 28 to March 2. They are scheduled to play against South Florida, Abilene Christian, New Mexico State, and Alabama A&M during the event.
