🚨 Fabrizio Romano: “Eze is now Arsenal’s top target for the rest of the window.” 🔴⚪.
Arsenal have made Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze their number one priority for the remainder of the summer transfer window, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. The Gunners are determined to add more creativity and unpredictability to their midfield and see Eze as the perfect fit.
Following their failed pursuit of other attacking midfielders, Arsenal have turned their full attention to securing a deal for the England international. Mikel Arteta is said to be a huge admirer of Eze’s flair, versatility, and ability to break lines — viewing him as a player who can seamlessly rotate across the attacking midfield and wing roles.
Sources indicate that Crystal Palace have informed Arsenal that any deal would require a significant financial package. The South London club are demanding £35 million up front, with an additional £32.5 million in structured instalments, bringing the total package to around £67.5 million. Arsenal are currently assessing the structure of the deal but remain confident they can reach an agreement.
Internal discussions are also ongoing regarding potential outgoings to help balance the books. With players like Emile Smith Rowe and Reiss Nelson potentially available for transfer, Arsenal could use funds from those departures to finance the Eze move.
Romano adds that Arsenal have been in direct contact with Eze’s representatives and are encouraged by his interest in joining the club. With less than a month remaining in the window, Arsenal are expected to push hard in the coming days to beat out any late competition and finalise a deal.
This potential signing would mark another statement of intent by Arteta’s side as they aim to bolster their squad ahead of a serious title challenge this season.
