£27m Ace Agrees Personal Terms to Leave Arsenal; It’ll Free Up Room for Eze.

Arsenal’s summer reshuffle is gaining momentum as a £27 million-rated player has agreed personal terms to leave the Emirates — paving the way for a potential swoop for Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze.

Portuguese full-back Nuno Tavares, who joined Arsenal in 2021, is reportedly on the verge of completing a move away from North London after failing to cement a place in Mikel Arteta’s plans. After a mixed loan spell at Nottingham Forest and interest from clubs across Europe, Tavares has now agreed personal terms with Lazio, according to multiple sources.

The departure of Tavares would not only trim Arsenal’s squad but also free up vital wages and space within the team — crucial for the potential arrival of attacking reinforcements. One name consistently linked is Eberechi Eze, the dazzling Crystal Palace midfielder who has caught Arteta’s eye with his blend of flair, control, and attacking instinct. Eze, who dazzled under Oliver Glasner last season, is reportedly high on Arsenal’s list of creative targets, especially as the Gunners seek to add depth behind Martin Ødegaard and offer alternative weapons in attack.

Eze’s £60m release clause makes him a costly investment, but Arsenal are exploring ways to finance the deal through player sales. Tavares’ exit, along with the possible sales of fringe players like Kieran Tierney and Eddie Nketiah, could significantly boost Arsenal’s spending power.

While no formal bid has been lodged for Eze yet, the Gunners are expected to accelerate their pursuit once exits are confirmed. With Champions League football and a Premier League title challenge in sight, Arteta is determined to build a dynamic, versatile squad — and Eze could be the next jewel in Arsenal’s crown.
