Arsenal are reportedly preparing to launch an official bid for Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze before the end of the transfer window.
Mikel Arteta is a long-time admirer of the attacking midfielder and sees Eze as a player capable of adding flair, creativity, and goal threat to Arsenal’s midfield. With uncertainty surrounding the long-term roles of Emile Smith Rowe and Fabio Vieira, Eze’s potential arrival could significantly reshape the Gunners’ attacking options.
Eze, 26, has already given indications that he would be open to a move, and Palace are believed to be bracing for an official offer in the coming days. While the South London club are reluctant to lose one of their star performers, a bid in the region of £60-70 million could tempt them to negotiate.
However, Arsenal’s plans could be complicated by Liverpool’s reported interest in another Palace player — defender Marc Guehi. According to multiple sources, Liverpool are weighing up a move for the England international as they seek to reinforce their backline. Palace are determined not to lose both key players in a single window, meaning any progress Liverpool make in their pursuit of Guehi could impact Arsenal’s hopes of signing Eze.
Palace may prefer to offload just one of their top assets this summer, and if Guehi departs first, they may refuse to part ways with Eze. This makes timing crucial for Arsenal. Additionally, with Eze recently signing a contract extension until 2027, Palace are under no pressure to sell quickly or cheaply.
As the transfer deadline nears, Arsenal must act decisively if they want to secure Eze’s signature. Arteta’s side faces a race against time — and possibly Liverpool — in a high-stakes tug-of-war for Crystal Palace’s prized talents.
