Arsenal could still bring in over £100 million in player sales this summer if Andrea Berta, the club’s new technical director, maximizes profit on several potential exits.
With the Gunners looking to balance the books and support further signings, Berta’s role in offloading surplus players could be crucial in shaping Mikel Arteta’s squad for the 2025/26 season.
Among the top candidates for departure is Emile Smith Rowe, whose development has stagnated due to injuries and limited game time. Valued at around £30 million, the academy product has attracted interest from several Premier League clubs. Another major outgoing could be Eddie Nketiah, with the striker available for around £25 million. Folarin Balogun’s successful move to Monaco last season set the precedent for youth strikers fetching solid fees, and Berta is keen to replicate that model.
Defender Kieran Tierney, who spent last season on loan at Real Sociedad, is also on the market. With clubs in Spain and the Premier League monitoring his situation, a fee close to £15-20 million could be secured. Elsewhere, Albert Sambi Lokonga and Nuno Tavares — both of whom were out on loan last season — are expected to leave permanently. Between them, Arsenal could bring in another £15-20 million.
If Berta can secure premium value for these fringe players, Arsenal’s sales could exceed the £100 million mark — money that would be reinvested into the squad to strengthen Arteta’s title challenge. With the transfer window entering its final month, all eyes will be on Berta to deliver a profitable and strategic clear-out. The Gunners have already shown ambition in the market, and the success of outgoing deals could be the key to unlocking one final major signing.
