Arsenal have initiated preliminary discussions with the representatives of Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyökeres, aiming to secure his services in the upcoming summer transfer window. The 26-year-old Swedish international has emerged as a prime target for the Gunners, following an exceptional season in Portugal.

 

Gyökeres has been in prolific form, netting 47 goals in 46 appearances across all competitions, including a remarkable hat-trick against Manchester City in the Champions League. His outstanding performances have not gone unnoticed, with Arsenal viewing him as a key addition to bolster their attacking options.

 

While Gyökeres’s contract includes a release clause of £85 million, reports suggest a gentleman’s agreement may allow a transfer for approximately £63 million.
