Arsenal Star Suffers Fifth Injury in Six Months, Raising Concerns Over Fitness.
Arsenal’s injury woes continue as star midfielder Thomas Partey has suffered his fifth injury in just six months, casting fresh doubt over his long-term fitness and availability for the rest of the season. The Ghana international, who has been plagued by persistent muscle problems, picked up the latest setback during a training session ahead of Arsenal’s crucial Premier League fixture this weekend.
Partey, 30, has missed a significant portion of the 2024/25 campaign due to various hamstring and thigh injuries. This latest blow is reportedly a recurrence of the muscular issues that have sidelined him for most of the past year. Since his arrival at Arsenal from Atlético Madrid in 2020, Partey has struggled to maintain consistent fitness, with this being the most injury-disrupted season of his career so far.
Manager Mikel Arteta expressed his frustration in a recent press conference, saying, “It’s very disappointing for Thomas and for us. He’s a top-quality player, and we’ve missed him badly. We’re doing everything we can to support his recovery and ensure he comes back stronger.”
Partey’s absence leaves a void in Arsenal’s midfield as they push for both domestic and European success. With crucial matches in the Premier League and UEFA Champions League approaching, Arteta will be forced to rely more heavily on the likes of Declan Rice and Jorginho, who have already carried much of the midfield burden this season.
Fans have voiced concern over Partey’s future at the club, with some questioning whether Arsenal should consider moving on from the injury-prone star in the upcoming transfer window. While his talent is unquestioned, Partey’s repeated setbacks have made it difficult for him to establish a lasting impact in North London.
