BREAKING NEWS ‼️
Arsenal star Bukayo Saka has heaped praise on a newly promoted academy striker, claiming the youngster is doing things even Erling Haaland can’t manage.
The mystery forward, who was only brought up to first-team training last week by Mikel Arteta, has reportedly impressed everyone at London Colney — including the senior squad.
“I know Merino is talented, but this academy striker Arteta brought up last week is doing things even Haaland can’t manage,” Saka told reporters after training. “The way he moves, finishes, and reads the game — it’s special. I believe he deserves a place in the starting lineup.”
The 17-year-old sensation, whose identity the club has kept under wraps pending an official announcement, is said to have lit up training with his pace, clinical finishing, and fearless approach. Arteta, who has long been committed to giving youth a chance, appears ready to make another bold call.
According to multiple sources, the wonderkid is set to start in Arsenal’s upcoming Premier League clash against Crystal Palace, and could even feature in the Champions League tie vs PSG — a staggering rise for a player who was playing U18 football just a few weeks ago.
Fans on social media are already calling him “The Next Big Thing,” and comparisons to the likes of Wayne Rooney and Kylian Mbappé are already being thrown around — though insiders at Arsenal urge caution, citing the need to manage expectations.
Still, with Saka leading the chorus of admiration, and Arteta willing to take the gamble, this rising star could be about to announce himself on the biggest stage.
All eyes will be on the Emirates.
