- Breaking news: Al-Nassr are making an ambitious move to sign Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhães this summer, with the Saudi club already making an initial approach to the player.
The Riyadh-based side is reportedly prepared to offer the Brazilian center-back a lucrative salary of around €20 million per year, which is nearly three times his current Arsenal wages—and tax-free.
Despite the financial appeal of the offer, Arsenal are not keen on losing Gabriel, who has become a key part of Mikel Arteta’s defensive setup. The Gunners value the 26-year-old highly and are unlikely to entertain offers below €100 million. Their firm preference is for him to extend his contract rather than depart.
Gabriel has been a crucial figure in Arsenal’s resurgence, forming a formidable partnership with William Saliba at the heart of the defense. He played a key role in their title challenge last season and remains one of the best-performing center-backs in the Premier League. Losing him would be a significant blow to Arsenal’s long-term plans, especially with the club pushing to maintain their status as title contenders.
While Saudi clubs have successfully lured several high-profile players with massive financial packages, Arsenal are in a strong position to reject any advances. Gabriel is under contract at the Emirates until 2027, giving the North London club control over his future.
Al-Nassr’s pursuit of European stars continues to be aggressive, but convincing Arsenal—and Gabriel himself—will be a major challenge. Unless the player pushes for a move, a deal remains unlikely, especially given Arsenal’s ambitions in the Premier League and Champions
League.
