Arsenal have still yet to replace Aaron Ramsdale five months – and a whole winter transfer window – after selling the goalkeeper to Southampton last summer.
The Gunners received an initial £18million from the Saints and are due another £1million should they – somehow – avoid relegation to the Championship this season. That is one of the more unachievable add-ons, with the others meaning the deal could rise to £25million in total.
After eventually allowing Ramsdale to leave on transfer deadline day, Arsenal signed Neto on a season-long loan from Bournemouth. However, the goalkeeper has barely played, and increasingly appears unlikely to stay beyond that deal.
