OFFICIAL: Scotland International Completes Move to Arsenal This Summer.

Arsenal have officially confirmed the signing of Scotland international defender Kieran Tierney, who returns to the Emirates Stadium after a successful loan spell at Real Sociedad. The 27-year-old left-back, who has 46 caps for Scotland, was a key figure for the La Liga side last season but now re-joins the Gunners with renewed determination to make an impact under Mikel Arteta.

Tierney initially joined Arsenal from Celtic in 2019 for a reported £25 million and quickly became a fan favorite due to his work rate, leadership, and defensive tenacity. However, injuries and the emergence of Oleksandr Zinchenko and Takehiro Tomiyasu limited his playing time, prompting a loan move to Spain last season.

During his time at Real Sociedad, Tierney impressed with his consistency and defensive contributions, helping the club qualify for European competition. Arsenal closely monitored his performances and have now opted to reintegrate him into the squad ahead of a busy 2025/26 campaign.

Speaking to Arsenal Media, Tierney said:

“It feels great to be back. I’ve had time to reflect, improve, and now I’m ready to fight for my place again. The fans have always been incredible to me, and I can’t wait to wear the Arsenal shirt again.”

Mikel Arteta welcomed the return of the Scottish full-back, highlighting his versatility and character as key assets for the team:

“Kieran knows what it means to play for this club. His experience and commitment will be very important as we prepare for the challenges ahead.”

With Tierney back in North London, Arsenal continue to strengthen their squad depth as they target domestic and European silverware in the upcoming season. The move is seen as a smart decision that brings both quality and leadership back into the Arsenal dressing room.
