Sport EPL: Odegaard snubs Thierry Henry, names ex-Arsenal player he’d love to play with

Arsenal captain, Martin Odegaard, has picked Cesc Fabregas over the likes of Thierry Henry and Santi Cazorla as the club’s former player he would love to play with.

Odegaard said Fabregas makes things happen, adding that he plays in the same position with the Spaniard.

Speaking with ESPN, the 26-year-old was asked which former Arsenal player he’d want to play with at Emirates Stadium.

Odegaard said, “The natural one to say would be [Thierry] Henry.

“But I loved [Cesc] Fabregas and I also loved Cazorla. I am going to go with Fabregas.”

The Norway international added: “We play the same position, we both like to get on the ball and try to make things happen.

“I always watched him when I was young. The way he dominated the game with the ball, his engine, and how he controlled the pace of the game was next level. ”

“So it would be cool [to play alongside him],” he stated.

Fabregas is currently the manager of Serie A side Como.

The former midfielder played for the likes of Arsenal, Barcelona, Chelsea and Monaco during his playing days.

Arsenal captain Martin Ødegaard has consistently expressed admiration for former Gunners legends, notably Thierry Henry and Cesc Fàbregas. His reflections on these iconic players highlight his deep connection to Arsenal’s storied history and his aspirations within the club.

Admiration for Thierry Henry

Idolizing Cesc Fàbregas

Ødegaard has also expressed deep admiration for Cesc Fàbregas, referring to him as an idol. He highlighted Fàbregas’s ability to control and dictate games, as well as his knack for providing assists and scoring goals. This admiration was further evident when Ødegaard shared a photo with Fàbregas on social media, captioning it “idol.”

Building His All-Time Dream Arsenal Player

Demonstrating his appreciation for both past and present Arsenal talents, Ødegaard once constructed his all-time dream Arsenal player by combining attributes from various club legends. He selected Thierry Henry’s right foot, Bukayo Saka’s left foot, Patrick Vieira’s leadership, and Leandro Trossard’s skills, among others.
