Ahead of the forthcoming January transfer window, Chelsea football club will most definitely remain keen on further strengthening their goalscoring options under manager Mauricio Pochettino.

 

 

The Premier League giants were very much active during the summer transfer window as they completed the signings of Nicolas Jackson, Cole Palmer, Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia.

 

Despite these additions last summer, Chelsea football club have struggled to score goals since the start of the season and are very much aware of the need to sign a new striker next year.

 

 

 

And if reports are anything to go by, then Chelsea football club have been linked with a transfer move for experienced AZ Alkmaar centre-forward Vangelis Pavlidis.

 

 

The 25-year-old Greece International, who signed up for AZ Alkmaar after departing Willem II back in 2021 has been an important member of the first-team squad since he made the move.

 

The experienced striker was hugely influential for AZ Alkmaar during the 2022/2023 season where he scored 22 goals and created 14 assists in 40 appearances in all competitions.

 

Vangelis Pavlidis has also continued in his impressive form for AZ Alkmaar so far this ongoing season, scoring 22 goals and providing three assists in the 27 matches he has played.

 

His excellent performances in front of goal is believed to have caught the attention of Chelsea football club and according to reports from The Sun, the Blues are keen on signing him.

 

 

 

 

The reports further claimed that Chelsea football club are really interested in Vangelis Pavlidis and have sent scouts to watch the experienced striker ahead of January transfer move.

 

It is believed that Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has had enough of his team’s inability to score goals and he has now identified the experienced Vangelis Pavlidis as a needed addition to his squad.

 

But then, it remains to be seen if AZ Alkmaar will be interested in listening to transfer offers from Chelsea football club to offload Vangelis Pavlidis when the January transfer window opens.
