‘The worst’: Matt Le Tissier stunned by what happened to £140,000-a-week Liverpool player
One of many controversial decisions during the Premier League match between Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur and Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday was the sending-off of Diogo Jota.
Controversial Diogo Jota sending-off for Liverpool vs Tottenham Hotspur
Jota was the second Liverpool player to be sent off against Tottenham Hotspur at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after Curtis Jones was dismissed in the 26th minute.
The £140,000-a-week (Spotrac) Portugal international forward was shown the first yellow card for committing a foul on Destiny Udogie.
Then just moments later, Jota lunged into a tackle and made a bad challenge on Udogie.
While there could be no doubt about the second yellow card, TV replays did show that Jota did not touch Udogie for the first booking.

Udogie had actually tripped himself.
It was a harsh decision.
And, as you can see below, former Southampton star Matt Le Tissier was not impressed.
The defeat to Tottenham means that Liverpool are now fourth in the Premier League table.
Jurgen Klopp’s side have picked up 16 points from seven matches.
The Merseyside club are two points behind leaders and defending champions Manchester City.
