Corruption in the Premier League — Journalist claims
Whoever ends up winning the Premier league this season or gets relegated, it will be the most controversial it ever gets.
There is a lot of corruption going on between UAE owned Manchester City and premier league referees, journalist Francois Plateau alleges as he unearths conspiracies tying the United Arab Emirates with Premier League referees who have been responsible for many controversial calls this season.
Controversy seems the only consistent thing when it comes to Premier League officiating and VAR calls, and this season, it has become even more frustrating as certain calls by match day officials have been brought into question – particularly those relating to Manchester City and Liverpool.

According to Francois Plateau, Michael Oliver; the match day official for the game between Liverpool and Manchester City at Anfield whose on field call in the Sunday clash led to the Reds being denied a penalty in the late stages of the game, has previously received payment for ‘freelancing’ as a referee in the United Arab Emirates, who stand linked to premier league champions, Manchester City.
Alleging the controversies plaguing VAR and refereeing decisions this season that have gone in favor of and against Manchester City and Liverpool respectively, aren’t far behind connecting the dots linking Michael Oliver, the UAE and Manchester City together.

Francois Plateau in his post on X, goes on to claim that the call in the crucial tie between Tottenham and Liverpool in North London, which had VAR referee Darren England making a controversial call to deny Liverpool of a lead after going down to 10-men, seems even more suspicious as England had been in the UAE less than 24 hours before the match.
