EPL: Why Manchester City haven’t faced punishment for alleged breach of 115 FFP rules
The reason Manchester City have not faced punishment for 115 alleged breaches of Financial Fair Play, FFP, rules has been revealed.
Recall that the Premier League has once again handed a points deduction to Everton, leaving fans confused over Man City’s lack of punishment despite being accused of breaching 115 FFP rules.
While City is currently battling for the title with Arsenal and Liverpool, the club has been under a cloud due to the alleged compromises to FFP rules.
However, the Premier League claims that City’s case is different from Everton and Nottingham Forest’s because of the depth, scale and complexity of the charges against them, according to The Telegraph.
Logistically, the City case is expected to be time-consuming leading to a longer wait for a punishment verdict, as compared to Everton’s case which had only one breach.
Everton is unhappy with the explanation and believes that cooperating with the Premier League should have resulted in a speedier punishment.
