Erling Haaland set to miss first EPL after International break: Man City predicted XI vs. Leicester

Manchester City are set to be without the talents of Erling Haaland for Wednesday night’s Premier League visit of Leicester City.

The towering Norwegian endured a mixed fate on Sunday afternoon, when the striker scored the Citizens’ opening goal of the FA Cup success over Bournemouth, minutes before being forced off due to a knee problem.

Departing the Vitality Stadium with the assistance of crutches and wearing a protective boot, Haaland is a major doubt to feature against the Foxes this week.

Netting the winner off the bench on the South Coast, Omar Marmoush is likely to come into the XI, with the Egyptian looking to score his fifth Premier League goal of the campaign in what would be his eighth top-flight appearance.

There could be a reshuffle at the back for Pep Guardiola’s side, with Abdukodir Khusanov potentially dropping out of the team to make room for Nico O’Reilly, who provided two assists against the Cherries on the weekend.

The 20-year-old might be in line to make his first-ever Premier League start at left-back, meaning that Josko Gvardiol would join Ruben Dias in the centre-back pairing.

Whilst the rest of his midfield partners are entering the twilight of their careers, Nico Gonzalez is set to provide a much-needed dose of youthfulness into the Citizens engine room.

Afforded the weekend off after witnessing the birth of his first child on Friday, Brazil international Savinho should be heavily involved against Leicester on Wednesday.

Manchester City possible starting lineup: Ederson; Nunes, Gvardiol, Dias, O’Reilly; Gonzalez, Gundogan, Savinho, De Bruyne, Doku; Marmoush
