Erling Haalang sends an aggressive message to Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold ahead of derby day

In the midst of the fierce Premier League race, tensions are brewing between Manchester City and Liverpool as the battle for the top spot intensifies.

Liverpool’s right-back, Trent Alexander-Arnold, ignited the rivalry by suggesting that Liverpool needs the current season’s league title more than Manchester City.

This remark didn’t go unnoticed by Manchester City’s star striker, Erling Haaland.

Haaland swiftly responded, dismissing Alexander-Arnold’s comments by stating that the Liverpool player can talk all he wants, but his words won’t affect the outcome on the pitch.

With Manchester City trailing behind Liverpool in the league table, Haaland’s focus remains on delivering results rather than engaging in media chatter.

As the anticipation builds for their upcoming clash next Sunday, football enthusiasts eagerly await to see which team will emerge victorious.

In the end, it will be the performance on the pitch that truly determines the fate of the title race, not the words exchanged in the media.

‘His quality is crazy’… Oscar Bobb names one Man City player he wants to be like the most

Oscar Bobb has said that he models his playing style on Manchester City teammate Bernardo Silva.

The 20-year-old is in the middle of his first season as a regular figure in Pep Guardiola’s senior squad at the Manchester club.

Having played and trained alongside the other more experienced members of the first team, the Norwegian has shared how he views one particular figure in the squad.

Speaking in a recent video shared on Livescore’s official X account, Bobb had this to say when asked which player in the City squad he looks up to the most.

He said: “I think Bernardo. He’s a player I want to play like and I think his quality is crazy and I just want to learn from him.”

City signed the 29-year-old from Monaco back in the 2017 summer transfer window in a deal worth £43m.

Since then, the midfielder has gone on to make 340 appearances for the Citizens across all competitions, scoring 63 goals, delivering 64 assists and winning numerous trophies along the way.

With 23 Premier League appearances under his belt this season, the Portuguese international has racked up the third-highest total of key passes (50) in the City squad and the second-highest for progressive carries (109).

He also has the third-highest number of successful take-ons (29) in Guardiola’s ranks, which shows how tricky the midfielder can be to play against.

Having been described by Guardiola as one of the best players he has coached in his career, this further highlights why Bobb thinks so highly of Silva and wants to model his game on him.

Moving forward, if Bobb can go on to have the sort of impact at City that the 29-year-old has had, he’ll undoubtedly be seen as one of the Citizens’ most important figures.
