Erling Halaand reveals only things he doesn’t like about Kevin De Bruyne in Manchester City’s Netflix Doc ‘Together : Treble winner ‘
Kevin De Bruyne‘s vision has assisted to set up many goals on a platter for Erling Haaland. Since the Norwegian striker’s move to the Premier League, Haaland and the Belgian midfielder have formed a fearsome duo. Remarkably, the pair’s first season together resulted in Manchester City winning a historic treble! Yet, for all of their telepathic chemistry, there is one aspect of KDB that Haaland is not quite keen on. Amusingly, this has nothing to do with the Belgian’s ability with a soccer ball!
In the 2nd part of Manchester City’s six-part documentary Together: Treble Winners, Erling Haaland and KDB were seen having a bit of banter regarding their fashion sense. The Norwegian striker entered the locker room in a fashionable white jacket with black prints. Seeing this, De Bruyne commented, “You know it’s not because it’s brands that it’s good.” Haaland asked if De Bruyne didn’t like it. The Belgian responded, saying that Haaland’s tone seemed somewhat off. It sparked a witty reply from the towering striker.
Erling Haaland said, “Kevin, I don’t know why he spoke to me because his clothes are not good.” Admittedly, the Belgian has never been renowned for his attires. However, he has his reasons for it. De Bruyne explained, “I’m old. I cannot wear what they wear. I don’t care either.“
While Erling Haaland does not seem to be a massive fan of KDB’s ‘clothes‘, he admires the Belgian’s skills on the pitch. In fact, the Manchester City #9 has raved about a KDB attribute that sets him apart from the rest.
Erling Haaland on the ‘difference’ between KDB and other Manchester City players
Lately, the prolific duo combined to produce a brilliant goal for Manchester City against Everton. In the post-match presser, the striker was all praise for the senior midfielder. Erling Haaland said, “With Kevin De Bruyne, I know I’m going to get it [the pass] perfect. Nothing bad about the others, but that’s a small difference. You know the ball is going to go.” Per Haaland, this is a natural quality of the Belgian maestro, one that hasn’t changed in the past five years.
The pair’s connection was on full display in the FA Cup encounter against Luton Town in February. In the said match, Erling Haaland scored five goals, with four coming from De Bruyne’s pinpoint passes. As such, even Manchester Boss Pep Guardiola made a huge claim that the Norwegian’s goalscoring exploits are reliant on the Belgian wizard’s vision! If Manchester City wants to retain their treble, they will need their superstar duo at their very best.
