Exclusive: All I want is justice Jose Mourinho responds to Pep Guardiola
Fenerbahce manager, Jose Mourinho, has said although he loves Pep Guardiola, he wants justice served if Manchester City are found guilty of breaching Financial Fair Play, FFP, rules.
Mourinho and Guardiola are two managers who have enjoyed an intense rivalry throughout their careers.
The two coaches clashed in Spain when Mourinho managed Real Madrid and Guardiola was at Barcelona.
They also came up against each other in England when Mourinho took charge of United while Guardiola was at City.
In the last week, Mourinho aimed a jibe at Guardiola by claiming he won titles “fairly and cleanly” in reference to the Premier League current charges hanging over the Cityzens.
Guardiola has since hit back by pointing out his superior record when it comes to winning Premier League titles.
Mourinho has again fuelled the war of words.
He told a press conference: “Pep and I worked together for three years, we know we love each other.
“It is not true that I want them to be relegated, what is true is that I want justice.
“Small teams can sometimes be penalised by FFP when they exceed their limits by five to ten euros. I also suffered due to the limits when I was at Roma.”
Fenerbahce manager Jose Mourinho has weighed in on the Financial Fair Play (FFP) charges against Manchester City, stating that he is seeking justice rather than punishment for the Premier League club, according to Sportskeeda. Mourinho’s comments come amid a heated debate over Manchester City’s alleged FFP violations, which have sparked a war of words between the Portuguese manager and Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola.
When asked if he wanted Manchester City to be punished for their alleged FFP violations, Mourinho responded, “All I want is justice. Small teams can sometimes be penalized by FFP when they exceed their limits by 5-10 euros. I also suffered due to the limits when I was at Roma. I don’t think this is fair.”
Mourinho’s comments suggest that he is more concerned with ensuring that the rules are applied fairly and consistently, rather than seeking revenge against Manchester City. The Portuguese manager has a history of clashing with Guardiola, and their recent war of words has added fuel to the fire.
Guardiola had previously taken a swipe at Mourinho, suggesting that the Portuguese manager was trying to deflect attention from his own team’s struggles. However, Mourinho has fired back, questioning the legality of Manchester City’s victories and suggesting that the club’s alleged FFP violations have given them an unfair advantage.
