Pep Guardiola would have breathed a sigh of relief after Manchester City confirmed their place in the Champions League next season by winning 2-0 against Fulham.
Goals from Ilkay Gundogan and Erling Haaland meant Manchester City booked their place in Europe’s elite competition for the 15th season in a row. The Fulham fans applauded Kevin De Bruyne as he made his final appearance in a City shirt as all in all, the visitors had a satisfactory day out at Craven Cottage.
One man who missed all the action was Jack Grealish, was not named in the Sky Blues’ matchday squad and after the contest, Pep Guardiola suggested he could leave via HaytersTV: “It was my selection. The last month, month and a half, I’ve left five, six players at home and now, this time, I decide for these guys [not to feature against Fulham]. Of course, Jack has to play. That’s the truth, Jack is an unbelievable player, has to play football every three days, didn’t happen this season, last season either and he needs to do it, with or us another place.”
“But that is a question of Jack, his agent, and the club. If he stays it will be fine and we will fight like we fought since he arrived on day one to make the contribution… I try to move the players [around who are absent on matchday], and today it was Jack – no more than that explanation.”
As Guardiola opened the door to the possibility of Grealish playing his football elsewhere next season, Manchester City fans were convinced that he will leave in the summer.
Man City fans react as Pep Guardiola hints at Jack Grealish’s exit
One Manchester City fan reacted to Pep Guardiola’s comments about Grealish by writing: “Sounds like he’s pushing him out here.”
Grealish looks set to leave Manchester City and another supporter claimed the Catalan’s hint guarantees his summer exit: ‘Another place?’ Yeah, he’s gone.”
A third Manchester City fan advised Grealish to put in a transfer request and depart the Etihad Stadium after Pep Guardiola’s post-match comments: “If I was Jack reading this, I’d be putting a transfer request in as its clear the manager wouldn’t want me. I wish Jack all the best.”

A fourth City fan claimed that the England international lacks self-belief and it has cost him at City: “Such a shame about Jack, but he lacks belief in himself. He’s the only person who has got in his way. Wish him the best, but I hope he gets his head screwed on and plays his best for us.”
Another supporter added: “That’s a nail in the coffin quote if I’ve ever seen one.”
Finally, a sixth fan claimed that if Pep Guardiola is indeed happy to move on from Grealish, it is time for Manchester City to sign wingers similar to Leroy Sane and Raheem Sterling: ‘Or another place’ ends Jack’s City career. There’s a few players in our squad now that just don’t fit our style and he’s one of them. We need to get back to our pacey effective wingers era. Sane/Sterling vibes. With decent box-to-box midfielders back in the middle.”

If the 29-year-old does leave in the summer, City will have to decide whether they wish to sign a replacement for him.
Who Man City could sign to replace Grealish if he leaves
Manchester City fans will be hoping that Grealish is adequately replaced if he is sold in the summer.
At present, Jeremy Doku is City’s only natural left-winger apart from the three-time Premier League champion.
However, whether Manchester City choose to replace Grealish or address other areas of the squad come the summer will be the dilemma for them.

But the speculation suggests that Hugo Viana may have plans in place.
Manchester City could try signing Eberechi Eze in the summer, who is comparable to Grealish as he is also a wide midfielder by trade.
Rodrygo Goes has been offered to Guardiola and perhaps he could come in to replace the former Aston Villa wideman as well as Real Madrid could be ready to sell him in the summer.
