I am beginning to be worried over lack of multiple goals by the team

According to a report by Sky Sports, Pep Guardiola recently admitted that his Manchester City side lacks multiple high-volume goal scorers outside of star striker Erling Haaland. He remarked, “Except Erling Haaland, we don’t have guys who score a lot of goals.” Despite this, Guardiola praised the team’s composure and overall play, especially in their latest victory.

Manchester City has become synonymous with controlled, efficient performances, often overwhelming opponents with possession and pressure. However, the manager’s concern is clear—Haaland cannot be the only consistent scoring outlet if they are to continue competing at the highest level in all competitions. The Premier League champions rely heavily on their system of play, but even that has its limits if goals aren’t coming from multiple players.

Guardiola also referenced their improved performance against stronger sides, noting that they lost to their recent opponent last season. “For the way they play, they were less active [today], but I saw games against Chelsea, Liverpool, they have moments where they play really good.” The win was a step in the right direction, but Guardiola emphasized the importance of finishing chances from across the squad.

With his eyes firmly set on retaining the Premier League title, Guardiola will need more players to step up and share the goal-scoring responsibility moving forward.

Manchester City’s 2-1 win over Wolves at Molineux ensured that Pep Guardiola’s side picked up a precious three points yesterday. It was a hard-fought win over a team that was determined to show they are up for the fight this season. But as Manchester City picked up another victory yesterday they also set a new club record. City are now unbeaten in their 31 Premier League games. That record is a testament to Manchester City’s remarkable consistency.

A new club record!

The consistency of Pep Guardiola’s side has helped them become the dominant force in English football. They have won 6 of the past 7 Premier League titles. That in itself is a remarkable feat. But the consistent drive to pick up results helps lay the foundation for Pep Guardiola’s side’s success. Without it, the world champions wouldn’t be who they are. It was on display yesterday at Molineux as City wouldn’t accept anything other than three points against a stubborn opponent.

To go 31 games unbeaten in the Premier League is no easy feat. The Premier League takes no prisoners each and every week. On their day any team can beat the top contenders. That was on display this weekend as Bournemouth beat Arsenal 2-nil on Saturday. For Manchester City to go 31 games unbeaten in such a tough competition is a special achievement. It takes a special team to go on such a lengthy unbeaten run in the Premier League. Manchester City certainly are that.

Manchester City’s win over Wolves saw Pep Guardiola’s side create even more club history. That has become common during Guardiola’s tenure as manager. But it shouldn’t be taken for granted as these achievements are rare to see occur.
